An opportunity has arisen for a Field Hockey Sports Exchange Advisor (SEA) to live and work in Japan in 2025 as part of the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme.
The JET Programme is a Japanese Government initiative, promoting cultural exchange at the grass-roots level. Now in its 39th year, the programme has had over 70,000 participants from 57 countries, with around 200 New Zealanders currently based in Japan.
The SEA position is a much coveted and very rare opportunity (the last recruitment cycle in New Zealand occurred earlier this year as well as 2023, and prior to that, 2018.
2025 Placement Location:
Akaiwa City, Okayama Prefecture
Interview Location:
Embassy of Japan in Wellington
General eligibility requirements:
- New Zealand Citizenship
- Coaching qualification and/or 3 years coaching experience
- An interest in living and working in Japan
- Knowledge of Japanese is not required
