Masters Representative Hockey.
Masters Representative Hockey offers seasoned players the opportunity to continue competing at a high level within a structured and supportive environment.
Designed for athletes aged 35 and over, this program fosters skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship while promoting fitness and camaraderie. Representing Bay of Plenty, Masters teams participate in regional and national competitions, showcasing the passion and experience that mature players bring to the sport.
Bay of Plenty Masters Programme.
The Bay of Plenty Hockey Association (BOPHA) has a strong community of hockey players who continue to enjoy playing competitive hockey beyond senior level.
Due to our smaller player base, BOPHA supports teams in both the men's and women's competitions primarily at the 35s and 40s age groups for the National Masters Tournament each year in February.
For older age groups, we assist our players in finding opportunities to join teams within other associations, as we don't have sufficient numbers to form our own teams at those levels.
The Vantage National Hockey Masters Tournament provides opportunities for athletes who are over the age of 35 to compete in National Tournaments.
With age groups defined in 5-year blocks, there is something for every player!

Tournament Details.
VENUE: Auckland, North Harbour
DATES: 22nd to 28th February 2026
Fees.
2026 Masters Fees - $150
Payment is required in full 1 week before tournament.
Failure to make payment or discuss a payment plan may result in players being withdrawn from tournament teams.

Please note that there are additional Player Uniform to purchase on top of this fee.

Eligibility.
Masters teams are based on players age as at 31 December in the year of the tournament. For example a player turning 35 in November 2026 will be eligible to play in the 35+ Age bracket
Player Merchandise.

Individual masters teams are to discuss and agree to uniform purchases
OPTIONAL ITEMS
Additional Bay of Plenty Hockey Merchandise can be viewed and ordered from the Paladin Sports BOP Hockey club site. The site is currently open for pre-orders and will close on 14 December 2025. This will allow suitable time for delivery prior to tournament
