Bay of Plenty Hockey is pleased to announce the players selected for our 2026 Under 18 Men’s and Women’s Representative Teams.

The 2026 Baywide competition has come to a close after an exciting final round this weekend. It’s been a strong inaugural season full of goals, developing combinations, and plenty of memorable moments for our Bay of Plenty teams.

The 2026 Baywide competition reaches its conclusion this weekend with the final round of matches. After a competitive local round full of goals, comebacks, and development, the final round offers up some great local clashes.

Bay of Plenty Hockey is hosting a one-off coaching session for coaches with former Black Sticks coach and Mavericks General Manager Darren Smith.

No Baywide games this weekend as we head into the Anzac Day long weekend , a well-earned chance to rest, reflect, and honour those who served.

A huge thank you to the Bobby Foundation for their generous support of our Under 18 Women’s team heading to Palmerston North in July for the National Under 18 Hockey Tournament.

Round 3 delivered some big results after the Easter break. Here’s a quick update on how our Bay of Plenty teams fared.

No Baywide games were played over the Easter weekend, giving teams a chance to rest and recover. However, several local players stayed sharp by competing in the Heritage Tournament. A big congratulations to all BOP representatives — especially the Punjab Heritage Team, which featured many of the BOP Indians and took out the Men’s Competition!

Round 2 of the 2026 Baywide competition delivered plenty of action before the Easter break. Our Bay of Plenty sides showed real character, with some standout individual performances building on the promise from Week 1.

The Baywide competition launches this weekend with five cracking games across Rotorua and Whakatane. Our Bay of Plenty sides are loaded with new talent, seasoned players, and that real local passion.

What an incredible week it was at the 2026 Vantage National Masters Hockey Tournament, held in North Harbour from February 22nd to 28th! Bay of Plenty Hockey was proudly represented by our dedicated teams and individuals, showcasing the spirit and passion that defines our community.

The Bay of Plenty Hockey Association (BOPHA) is proud to celebrate the extraordinary development and achievements of our Indoor Hockey programs.

The Bay of Plenty U18 Men’s Indoor Hockey team delivered an outstanding performance at the National Indoor Hockey Championship in Taupō, finishing second overall.

The Bay of Plenty U18 Women’s Indoor Hockey team delivered a determined and resilient performance at the U18 National Indoor Tournament in Taupō.

Congratulations to our Masters Women’s team, who have taken out the National Indoor Masters Tournament held in Taupō in January 2026!

Bay of Plenty Hockey enjoyed an outstanding weekend at the U14 & U16 Super Regional Challenge held in Taupō on 6–7 December 2025. Three representative teams made the journey north, and they returned with two titles, countless memorable moments, and clear evidence of the strength and depth coming through our indoor programme.

They came, they roared, and they very nearly conquered. Our Bay of Plenty Senior Men’s team returned from the National Hockey Championship in Christchurch (14–20 September) with Tier 3 silver medals around their necks and a whole lot of pride in their hearts.
