A statement from Bay of Plenty Hockey Association Chair, Amish Fermah. It is with mixed emotions that I announce the resignation of Chad Hoggard from his role as Executive Officer of the Bay of Plenty Hockey Association (BOPHA).

The Bay of Plenty Hockey Secondary School Finals delivered a thrilling night of competition on Tuesday 23 June, with Boys B Grade, Girls A Grade, and Boys A Grade titles decided across the Rotorua and Whakatāne turfs.

Round 3 delivered some big results after the Easter break. Here’s a quick update on how our Bay of Plenty teams fared.

No Baywide games were played over the Easter weekend, giving teams a chance to rest and recover. However, several local players stayed sharp by competing in the Heritage Tournament. A big congratulations to all BOP representatives — especially the Punjab Heritage Team, which featured many of the BOP Indians and took out the Men’s Competition!

Round 2 of the 2026 Baywide competition delivered plenty of action before the Easter break. Our Bay of Plenty sides showed real character, with some standout individual performances building on the promise from Week 1.

What an incredible week it was at the 2026 Vantage National Masters Hockey Tournament, held in North Harbour from February 22nd to 28th! Bay of Plenty Hockey was proudly represented by our dedicated teams and individuals, showcasing the spirit and passion that defines our community.
