The Competition Is Heating Up!
Round 3 delivered some big results after the Easter break. Here’s a quick update on how our Bay of Plenty teams fared:
Round 3 Results Wrap
Rotorua Aces Women got their first win of the season with a strong 3-0 victory over Omanu Premier Blues. Rachael Hatcher opened the scoring and then put the final goal away in the 4th quarter with Stacey MacDonald chipping in with another goal as well.
Whakatāne Women vs Hepi Sports was unfortunately deferred due to the incoming Cyclone Vaianu.
Mount Maunganui thrashed Otūmoetai Blues 11-1.
Tauranga Old Boys United defeated Rotorua Aces Men 9-2, with Sam Bocock and Braythyn Lemon scoring for the Aces.
BOP Indians beat Whakatāne Men 7-2. Karambir “Ricky” Singh continued his hot streak with another 2 goals (taking his tally even further clear at the top). Other Indian goal scorers were Harpreet Singh, Rajveer Singh, and Jatinder Singh , plus a curious entry for goalie Daljeet Singh with 2 goals, although we might need to double-check that one with the scorers! For Whakatāne, Cam Ogle and Sean Wills found the net.
With 2 rounds to go the competition table is starting to take shape and it is good to see Bay of Plenty teams building momentum.
