Bay of Plenty U18 Women Show Grit at National Indoor Tournament

The Bay of Plenty U18 Women’s Indoor Hockey team delivered a determined and resilient performance at the U18 National Indoor Tournament in Taupō.

Facing the tournament with just two substitutes and additional players drafted in from outside the region to complete the squad, the team demonstrated real grit and commitment. As the tournament progressed, the group continued to develop strongly, giving everything on the court in every match.

The team was led by coach Oriwa Hepi, a proud Bay of Plenty local and New Zealand Indoor Hockey representative, whose leadership and experience were invaluable throughout the campaign. Strong support was also provided by team manager Kylie "Mup" Craggs, who ensured the group was well supported off the court.

This tournament highlighted the resilience, teamwork, and determination of this young group. Their performance is a positive sign for the future of Bay of Plenty indoor hockey
